- The Grünloch-Experiment (Lunz am See, Austria)

- Meteorological Field Campaign about temperature inversions in Alpine basins

15 February 2004. Again a another Grünloch trip. After a real fantastic winter with record snow depths in East Austria we wanted to have a look to our data loggers.

On the way to Lunz am See. The small town Wieselburg with Mt. Ötscher in the background.

At Lehen we met the others.

Sunrise at Lechnergraben.

Chamois carcass in an avalanche chute. This winter many large avalanches went down.

Cascades at one of the narrowest parts of the ravine.

...

Still a long way to the saddle.

At 1000m MSL we had to put on our snow shoes.

Another chamois cadaver.  For predators old avalanches are a good place to find food.

All in all we found four cadavers in the snow.

After this biological lessons, we proceed our way.
