- The Grünloch-Experiment (Lunz am See, Austria)

- Meteorological Field Campaign about temperature inversions in Alpine basins

Turbulent erosion

Turbulent erosion events occur, but they are very slow.

In our case, two sinkholes of different size, but similar shape start cooling at the same rate, until the inversion in the small basin becomes slowly removed from the top while the inversion of the large basin was not affected at all. The process takes about 2 hours.

Blue lines > Gruenloch (floor, middle, saddle). Red lines > Seekopfalm (floor, middle, saddle)

The smaller Seekopfalm is effected by the winds aloft, in the same time, the bigger Gruenloch is nearly not effected.
